    2008’s Highway Prayer – a particular favourite of that vintage year in this parish – Twilight Hotel’s Brandy Zdan and Dave Quanbury have relocated from their native Winnipeg, Canada, to Austin, the hippest city in Texas.     Although David Quanbury and Brandy Zdan have relocated from Winnipeg to Austin, TX, the chilly gloom of their homeland remains a powerful presence in their music. On the title track, cavernous production and an anxious vocal duet are enough to evoke empty prairies.

They moved to Austin, Texas, to make this record, playing most of the instruments themselves and pairing their voices in songs that reverberate with things noticed on the road and packed away for later inspection.
